The BYD Dolphin Surf was launched in the UK at Alexandria Palace in June of 2025. The event was an active affair with games, dancers, food trucks and lots of bright graphics.
The Dolphin Surf is a compact all electric city car that seats four people, whilst boasting the latest technology including a rotating 10.1" touchscreen that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Available with a 30kWh or 43.2 kWh battery, with the larger pack being fitted on the higher trim Boost and Comfort cars.
Range depends on trim with the Boost model boasting over 200 miles of range, whilst the Comfort model claims around 193 miles of range but it is the fastest to accelerate to 60mph, which takes just over 9 seconds.
15" wheels on the base Active model and 16" wheels are standard on Boost and Comfort models.
Prices start from £18,650 with the top of the range Comfort trim priced from £23,950.
The exterior design of the Dolphin Surf is wedge shaped and certainly stands out in the hatchback segment. There are four colours available from launch with Citrus Yellow coming as standard. For an additional £650 you can choose from Apricity White, Ice Blue and Polar Night Black.
The BYD Dolphin Surf is available from June 2025.
On a dark, gloomy and wet March Thursday evening Corvette had some big announcements for the UK. A gathering of guests conjured at Corvette Glasgow, a selection of Corvettes where on display with one silhouette under wraps.
As canapes circulated and guest speakers made their appearance, the build up for the unveiling intensified. Once it was time, the guests gathered round this cloaked vehicle and anticipated built up to reveal the first right hand drive Corvette E-Ray in the country. An all wheel drive electrified 2 seat Stingray that boasts impressive sub 3 second to 60mph acceleration, in part due to its 6.2l V8 petrol engine and the electric motor on the front axle.
The interior of the new C8 Corvette is driver focused with the cockpit being angled towards the driver. A row of buttons divides the passenger from the driver. The steering wheel feels right in your hands and the seats offer a reassuring amount of support, that I am sure will be useful out on the road.
Expect to see the C8 Corvette variants on UK roads in 2025 with prices starting around £100,000.
