A new enterant to the UK car market, the Geely Auto brand may not be well known here. However it is likely that you have heard of the brands with Geely own, these include Lotus, London Taxi Company, Polestar and Volvo. This is their first car to be sold in the UK, the EX5. An all electric compact SUV that boasts an 8 year/125k mile warranty and a suite of technology as standard. Pricing is competitive with entry level models priced around £32,000 and my test car, top of the range MAX trim, is priced just under £37,000 before options. The EX5 uses a 61 kWh battery and provides a claimed range of 255-267 miles, depending on trim you choose. Charging up to 160kw, which means that you can rapid charge 30% to 80% in 20 minutes. 215bhp goes to the front wheels, no AWD available, and acceleration is acceptable at 7 seconds to 62mph.
