Meet the Changan Deepal S07, you would be forgiven if you are unfamiliar with the brand as this is a new entrant into the UK market. The Changan brand has been producing cars since 1984, they even have an R&D facility in the UK since 2010. Changan lauched the Deepal brand in 2022 and this S07 is their first UK market model. It is a 2 row cross over which measures at 4.75m in length and it is priced just under £40,000 - as of September 2025. It is currently only available as a rear wheel drive model and the range from its 75kWh (useable capacity) battery is claimed at 295 miles. Rivals include the BYD Sealion 7, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Tesla Model Y.

The S07 comes with lots of good technology, especially considering the price. The camera quality is impressive as is the graphics on the touch screen (almost all functions are controlled through the screen). The screen pivots towards the driver when you sit on the drivers seat. What is refreshing is the heads up display, which means that the driver can keep their eyes focused on the road.

Interior space is generous for passengers and perceived build quality feels good. A standard fitted panoramic roof helps provide a light and airy feel in the cabin.

Exterior styling is anonymous, however there is a light bar on the rear of the vehicle.
