Kia have been on a roll recently with launched electric vehicles and the EV5 is their electric C-segment crossover. It is built on the same 400v architecture as the EV3 and EV4, with all UK EV5 models being front wheel drive and offered in a 81.4kWh battery. There are 3 trim levels, Air, GT LINE and GT LINE S. The styling is bold and boxy, taking design cues from the larger EV9. Prices start just under £40,000 for an entry level AIR model. Check out the full video on YouTube.
It is not often that a new hatchback launches in the UK, never mind one powered by petrol. However for 2026 Kia have launched the K4 hatchback available with a 1.0l or 1.6l with power going through a 7 speed DCT or you can row your own gears with a 6 speed manual. There are 3 trim levels, PURE, GT LINE and GT LINE S. Prices start at £26,795. Check out the full video on YouTube.
The KIA Sportage is one of the best selling cars in the UK and the updates have been subtle. The front design of the car has been tweaked to visually elongate the exterior appearance. The interior features two 12 inch screens, which are clear and crisp. KIA do a good job of using buttons for features which you interact with regularly. The Sportage is available in two or all wheel drive. There are 3 trim levels, PURE, GT LINE and GT LINE S. The hybrid powertrain boasts better fuel economy and a smoother experience out on the road compared with the non hybrid Sportage. My test car is a top of the range GT LINE S in AWD finished in Flame Blue paint. Check out the full video on YouTube.
One of Britain's best selling cars has been updated for the 2026 model year. This is the revised Kia Sportage, the exterior styling has been tweaked to bring the Sportage in line with other Kia models such as the EV9. The interior has been updated to feature new twin displays, new technology and the top trim GT LINE S features a heads up display and ventilated seats. The base trim level has been renamed PURE, to align that with other KIA's. The Sportage is offered in manual and automatic, as well as a petrol or petrol hybrid - with a plug-in hybrid set to arrive later this year. Prices start just over £30,000 for an entry level manual PURE trim Sportage, whilst a top of the range hybrid GT LINE S trim is priced north of £40,000. Check out the full video on YouTube.
It is not everyday that a hatchback is launched in the UK car market, KIA have went in with bold styling, modern tech and their famous 7 year warranty. The EV4 is available in 3 trim levels (Air, GT Line and GT Line S), as well as being offered with 2 battery pack sizes (for the hatch) and there is even two body styles to choose from, this Hatch or a Fastback.
I lived with the entry level Air model for a week, which promises 388 miles of range. Check out the full video on YouTube.
The Kia EV9 is a large all electric vehicle that uses a 99.8kWh battery, with power being rated at 378 bhp and 700 nm of torque. Acceleration is smooth and brisk at 5.3 seconds to 62 mph.
The interior is well appointed with plenty of features to keep you satisfied from the heated and ventilated seats to the suite of safety tech. At 5ft 11 I was able to sit comfortably in the second row and I also managed to perch myself into the 3rd row. Kia have thought of all passengers as the rear passengers can enjoy cup holders, arm rests and charge ports for their devices.
Out on the road the EV9 feels large, particularly on British B-roads, this is in part due to the sheer size of the car. Measuring in at 5,015mm in length and 1,980mm in width. It is worth pointing out that the EV9 floats down the road comfortably, absorbing the lumps and bumps. The priority here being for comfort.
On the road price £76,985.
