Audi have launched the current generation of A6 with combustion and electric variants, interestingly there is two separate platforms that the A6 rides. This all electric A6 shares its PPE platform with the Porsche Macan EV.
Audi offer the A6 with two battery options, a 83 kWh or a larger 100 kWh lithium ion battery. My test car uses the larger battery and Audi claim around 400 miles of range. There are a variety of trim levels and configurations available on the A6 E-tron, with my tester sitting in the middle as a single motor using the larger battery. Power is plentiful at 367 bhp and 0-62mph in the mid 5 second range.
The interior of this new A6 is technology focused with the dashboard hosting three screens, two for the driver and one for the front passenger. Interior quality is typical Audi affair, although not as plush as you might expect for a £87,000 Audi.
Boot space is generous with this Avant model, over 500 litres. It is worth mentioning it is short compared to the BMW i5 touring and the VW ID7 estate. Rear legroom is ok but the floor feels raised and makes for a slightly uncomfortable seating position.

"They don't make them like this anymore", a phrase I remember my grandparents telling me growing up. I did not imagine saying this to myself in 2025 as a 30 year old, but here we are. This is a 2020 Audi SQ7 TDI Vorsprung, a 4.0 litre turbo diesel V8 that provides plenty of power for towing and ultimate Audi Q7 bragging rights in the school car park. This marvellous V8 TDI was also used in the Bentley Bentayga briefly.
The SQ7 is based on the Q7, which means you get seating for seven and a leather lined premium feeling cabin. The Vorsprung adds in all the bells and whistles which include soft close doors and a generous panoramic roof. It is hard to believe how quickly the love for diesels have fallen and this once £100k SUV can be picked up 5 years later for under £50,000.

The end of an era, after decades on sale the Audi A4 as we know it is no more. The A4 and A5 are merging into one model for 2025. I take a look at the outgoing Audi A4 B9.5 model, powered by a 2.0 litre turbo diesel (which also feels like an end of an era as the car industry pivots towards electrification).
The A4 has a well built premium cabin and this revised B9.5 model features a touchscreen that offers wireless Apple CarPlay. Out on the road the cabin is quiet and you only hear the diesel engine notes under acceleration. The A4 offers seating for 5, although 4 people is probably were you will all be happiest. A generous boot and you are able to choose from a choice of petrol and diesel as well as estate (or avant) and saloon models. In addition, Audi offered the A4 with a manual or automatic as well as front wheel drive or with Audi's Quattro system. Needless to say there is an A4 available to suit most buyers.
